Capture is a team that has been involved in the development of the photo industry in Kazakhstan for over 10 years. During this time, the team has worked on and implemented various projects, with the two main ones being Capture Studio and Capture School.
Capture was one of Almaty’s first professional photo studios, built around high-quality equipment and a comfortable environment for photographers and production teams.

I joined Capture in 2020 as an administrator and gradually moved into a management role, taking responsibility for the studio’s development and internal processes.
At the time, the studio was going through a financially difficult period. Together with the team, we restructured operations, developed a clearer positioning and communication strategy, improved the customer experience, and introduced new tools, including an online booking system.
Over three years, we rebuilt the studio’s processes, strengthened its presence in the local creative community, and brought the business from debt back to profitability.

Key outcomes:
  • Developed a clearer brand positioning
  • Built and grew the studio’s social media presence
  • Introduced an online booking system
  • Improved internal and customer-facing processes
  • Updated technical equipment based on photographers’ needs
  • Helped bring the studio from debt to profitability

CAPTURE SCHOOL
In 2021, I also took over the management of Capture School — a photography school with an eight-year history and more than 1,000 graduates.

Despite its established name, the school had been largely absent from marketing and communications for several years and was losing visibility in a growing market. Our goal was to reintroduce Capture School to its audience and strengthen its position within Almaty’s photography community.
We built a new team, redefined the school’s positioning and visual identity, and developed its communication strategy with a focus on social media, events, and educational content. We also expanded the program with new courses and public formats, bringing photographers and other industry professionals into the school.

In one year:
  • Repositioned and rebranded Capture School
  • Rebuilt its social media presence
  • Launched a new website
  • Developed a targeted advertising and sales funnel
  • Introduced two new courses: retouching and lighting
  • Produced 10 workshops
  • Organized 7 artist talks
Design of workbook for students of Capture School.
